We understand the connection between a healthy climate and healthy people.
Climate change is one of the most consequential threats to health in the long term.
We’ve taken bold steps to increase understanding of the connection between climate and health in order to improve the total health of our members and the communities we serve.
We’ve taken innovative steps to become carbon neutral.
We purchased renewable energy, installed hundreds of solar arrays, improved our buildings’ energy efficiency to eliminate emissions from electricity use, and purchased carefully selected carbon offsets to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions that are currently not feasible to eliminate.
But, we can do more.
We will reduce our supply chain’s carbon footprint; identify a science-based target for additional emission reductions; purchase food locally; reduce water use by 25%; and recycle, reuse, or compost 100% of non-hazardous waste.
