Prince George’s County residents will soon have another option for accessing Kaiser Permanente award-winning health care and coverage, Kaiser Permanente plans to open a new state-of-the-art medical center in Bowie, Maryland in August of this year.

Located at 5400 Hillmeade Road in Bowie, the 45,558 square-foot Kaiser Permanente medical center will provide primary care, mental health and wellness, optometry, pharmacy, laboratory and radiology/imaging services.

“Kaiser Permanente is proud to add another high-quality medical care center to serve our members who live and work in Prince George’s County,” said Kim Horn, president of Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States. “We are proud to be part of the Prince George’s County community, and we will continue investing in its residents and their total health.”

This facility is scheduled to open in August 2021 to provide best-in-class health care to members in the area.

“Our physicians have been involved in the design of this medical center to ensure that our patients receive the highest quality care,” said Bernadette Loftus, MD, associate executive director of The Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group, which provides care for Kaiser Permanente members in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia. “When they come to this new medical center, patients can not only expect the extraordinary care that has earned Kaiser Permanente of the Mid-Atlantic States the No. 1 spot for quality in the nation, but they will also experience the ease of care that comes from having pharmacy, radiology and a laboratory located in the same building.”

Kaiser Permanente is committed to creating a healthy Prince George’s County for all residents. In 2017, we invested nearly $10 million in the county to support a variety of community health programs, including one that has placed seven nurse practitioners in community clinics, increasing health care access for more than 21,000 residents.

Kaiser Permanente is also helping to foster school environments that enable teachers and students to thrive. Our school grants program provided $2,500 grants to 25 schools for teacher wellness initiatives in Prince George’s County in 2017. We are also helping create future economic opportunity for youth by investing in college and career readiness and internships programs for nearly 3,000 high school students.

With more than 1,500 primary and specialty care physicians available to them, Kaiser Permanente members have access to one of the largest medical groups in Maryland, Virginia and the District of Columbia.
