Congratulations to our new parents and our newest members. We want you and your baby to be healthy, so we offer enhanced well-child visits, parent information resources, lactation consulting, and more. This gives you the support you both need to stay healthy and bond with one another.
Upon leaving the hospital after your delivery, your pediatric team will schedule a checkup for 1 to 3 days later. At this appointment, your baby will receive a full physical assessment, including a weight check, and you’ll receive information about:
- Circumcision care
- Cord care
- Gas and colic concerns
- Immunizations
- Jaundice
- Any other health concerns to watch out for
Our Newborn Care Center staff teams are here to answer any questions you have about your baby’s health. And because mothers need support too, we have certified lactation consultants to answer questions about breastfeeding. You can even request a personal breast pump, which a lactation consultant will provide and teach you how to use.
If you still have questions after your visit, please visit kp.org/maternity, or call us anytime at the phone number for your service area below.
