Kaiser Permanente welcomes a new regional president

Jun 01, 2020

The Mid-Atlantic States region of Kaiser Permanente is excited to welcome Ruth Williams-Brinkley as president to replace Kim Horn, who has been promoted within Kaiser Permanente.

Ms. Williams-Brinkley joins the mid-Atlantic region from Kaiser Permanente Northwest, where she served as president since 2017. Prior to joining Kaiser Permanente, Williams-Brinkley was CEO of KentuckyOne Health, Kentucky’s largest integrated health system, where she oversaw a post-merger systems integration with the joining of the University of Louisville Hospital and the James Graham Brown Cancer Center. She also successfully expanded specialty programs in heart and cancer care at KentuckyOne.

She says that her training as a registered nurse still guides her leadership actions and decisions—and that she firmly believes in Kaiser Permanente’s mission to deliver total health to all those in the communities that we serve. She also believes that our integrated care model would serve the country well, if it was widely adopted.

Ms. Williams-Brinkley is a strong patient advocate and her goal for Kaiser Permanente is to always do our best for our members and communities. She will continue her work in positioning Kaiser Permanente as a complete system of care for our members, and in delivering affordable, high-quality care that results in better outcomes.
