Video goggles help pediatric patients during MRI scans

Sep 19, 2018

An MRI can take anywhere from 20 minutes to two hours: an eternity to expect a child to keep still. Kaiser Permanente can now offer members an MRI experience that is entertaining instead of frightening. Dr. Shashi Ranganath, a radiologist, explains how Kaiser Permanente can provide innovative goggles, accompanied with MRI-safe headphones, to immerse members in a video and ultimately help children remain calm during the MRI scan. These video goggles help members remain calm and allow the medical staff to obtain accurate images.
