Plan for a fun and healthy summer

Jul 09, 2020

With summer in full swing, we know that many people are gathering with family and friends. At Kaiser Permanente, we recognize the importance of connecting with others, especially after such a challenging period of isolation. And, we want you to stay safe and healthy as you reconnect.

If you’re planning to host or attend a summer gathering, follow these steps to help minimize your risk of getting or spreading COVID-19:

  1. Know you’re healthy before you go. Stay home or call your doctor if you or anyone in your family is experiencing fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills/shaking chills, muscle pain, headache, sore throat, or a new loss of taste or smell.
  2. Always wear a mask. A cloth mask protects you and others. You may have COVID-19, even if you don’t have symptoms.
  3. Social distance. Even with your mask on, the best way to protect yourself and loved ones is to stay 6 feet apart from others outside of your home.
  4. Practice healthy hand hygiene.Wash your hands often with soap and water or use hand sanitizer. If you are hosting, make sure to provide plenty of paper towels, tissues, disinfecting wipes, and no touch trash cans.
