Manage your health on the go with our convenient digital resources

Sep 20, 2018

When life gets busy with work, school, family, and other activities, it can be hard to keep up with your health. But Kaiser Permanente offers helpful digital resources that make it easy to stay on top of scheduled appointments, check-ins, prescriptions, and more.

If you haven’t already, register on kp.org from a computer (not a mobile device). Follow the sign-on instructions and have your medical record number found on your member ID card handy. Once you’re registered on kp.org, you’ll be able to:*

  • View most lab results.
  • Refill most prescriptions.
  • Email your doctor’s office with nonurgent questions.
  • Schedule and cancel routine appointments.
  • Print vaccination records for school, sports, and camp.
  • Manage a family member’s care.
  • Get a personalized cost estimate.

Registering on kp.org also gives you access to mobile resources that help you take charge of your health on the go.

KP app

Download the KP app and be in control of your health 24/7, when it’s convenient for you. The app lets you:

  • See your medical record and appointment history
  • Schedule and cancel routine appointments.
  • Email doctors with nonemergency questions.
  • Refill most prescriptions.
  • View most lab results.

You can even register for kp.org on the KP app.

My KP Meds app

Need help remembering to take your medications? Download the My KP Meds app to keep you on schedule 24/7 with convenient text reminders to take your meds. Since the app connects to your electronic medical record, you get the latest information about your prescriptions delivered to your mobile device. The My KP Meds app allows you to:

  • Create a schedule to receive alerts to take prescriptions.
  • View current medications and track dose history.
  • Refill prescriptions.
  • Upload a photo of your prescription bottle to identify the medication for your care team.
  • Share your list of medications—and a summary of how much you’ve taken—with your family members or caregivers.

For more information about the My KP Meds app, visit kp.org/doctor/mykpmeds.

Download the My KP Meds app today from the App StoreSM or on Google PlayTM.

Digital membership card

Use your smartphone as your membership card when you check in for appointments with your doctor. Just launch the KP app and tap the card icon at the bottom of dashboard to open your digital membership card § during your next visit. The electronic card lets you:

  • Check in for appointments with your doctor, lab, and radiology.
  • Pick up prescriptions.
  • Access your family’s membership information.

Text appointment reminders

Never miss an appointment again—opt in to get appointment reminders via text message** on your mobile device. You’ll get:

  • On-the-go convenience for keeping track of upcoming appointments.
  • Increased likelihood of keeping your appointments.
  • Ability to cancel appointments without having to call your doctor’s office.

Opt in for reminders in one of two ways:

  • During your next visit to a Kaiser Permanente medical center, where you can ask the reception staff to set up your text appointment reminders.
  • When you make an appointment by calling the Medical Advice & Appointment Center at 800-777-7904.

Opt out at anytime by calling 800-777-7904 or replying to the most recent text appointment reminder with the word “STOP.” For more information about text reminders, go to kp.org/doctor/textmessaging.

Download the My KP Meds app today from the App StoreSM or on Google PlayTM.

*These features are available when care is received at Kaiser Permanente facilities.

†If a member already gets text messages about their prescriptions, they will keep receiving them. Prescription reminders are part of a separate program and unrelated to appointment reminders.

‡App Store is a service mark of Apple, Inc. Google Play is a trademark of Google, Inc.

  • The digital membership card is currently not available to members in certain plans, including Medicare, Medicaid, out of area, and Flexible Choice Three Tier Point-of-Service.

**Text message reminders are not currently available for all departments. At this time, reminders are only available for adult primary care and physical therapy appointments. Additional departments will be added throughout the year.
